L’opera di Laika dedicato alla campionessa olimpica di volley era comparso a Roma solo da 24 ore
Dopo 24 ore, il murales di Laika dedicato a Paola Egonu è già stato vandalizzato. Con una mano di bianco, la pelle della campionessa olimpica di volley femminile è stata schiarita e dal pallone sono state cancellate le parole ‘stop’, ‘hate’, ‘xenophobia’ e ‘racism’.
“Il razzismo è un cancro brutto da cui l’Italia deve guarire”, ha scritto Laika, rilanciando sui propri social la foto del murales deturpato, condivisa da vari utenti e scattata dalla giornalista Rai Maria Cristina Cusumano. “Il futuro è nostro – ha aggiunto la street artist -, voi razzisti sarete solo un brutto ricordo”. L’opera si chiama ‘Italianità’ e la street artist l’ha realizzata davanti alla sede del Coni a Roma dedicandola “a tutti gli Italiani non riconosciuti come tali dal nostro Stato”.
“Nel nostro Paese – aveva spiegato Laika condividendo la foto del murales appena realizzato in un post su Instagram – non c’è più spazio per xenofobia, razzismo, odio e intolleranza. Il razzismo è una piaga sociale che va sconfitta. Farlo anche attraverso lo sport è importantissimo. Credo in un futuro di inclusività, di accoglienza e di rispetto dei diritti umani. Essere rappresentat* da atlete come Paola Egonu, Myriam Sylla, Ekaterina Antropova è un onore. Vederle con la medaglia più preziosa dei giochi olimpici al collo, mentre cantano commosse l’inno italiano è una gioia immensa”.
